We’ve now got Cyber Essentials in place for ParlyReply.
Given the kind of casework and constituent data parliamentary offices deal with, it felt important to have a proper security baseline in place, not just say the right things.
Cyber Essentials is a UK government-backed certification covering core controls like secure configuration, access controls, malware protection, patching, and firewalls. It also comes with £25,000 of cyber insurance.
It’s not the whole answer to security, but it does mean we’ve got a widely recognised baseline in place alongside UK-hosted infrastructure and Zero Data Retention with OpenAI.
More broadly, that’s how we want to build ParlyReply. The product should be genuinely useful for parliamentary teams, but it should also reflect the sensitivity of the work itself. That means taking the boring but necessary bits seriously too.
